I’m only touching on a few of the trends giving in 2024, there’s plenty more evolving as the year goes by, but here are my top 6 below…
1. It’s giving short and spicy…

2. It’s giving 90’s bob…

The haircut that came in hot in ‘23 and still lighting up in 24 even more is the 90’s bob. The bob is a length that can be adjusted on all face shapes. Whether it be blunt when you have finer hair, that will give the illusion of thicker locks, or ghost layers to give movement and sophistication to tame any thick mane.
If there’s a safe haircut to try in 2024 it’s the 90’s bob. As the ‘ye old saying goes, its only hair and it grows back! So why not give it a go?
3. Blow outs, it’s giving big and bouncy…

The bigger the hair, the closer to heaven. Get your plumping products out and get your roots lifted.
Big beautiful blow outs are back. We’re getting our round brushes out, and our velcro rollers. Say goodbye to flat boring styles. If you’ve got an event and want to stand out, book with your hairdresser for a blow out that will give them the equivalent of an arm workout at any gym.

4. It’s giving bows & bubble ties…

Bow down to the trend that is all ribbons and bobble ties. If you’re going to tie it up make sure there’s some bobbles for extra girly punk with school girl ‘tude.
Whatever size or colour the ribbon or tie its up to you. Hair accessories can add that extra matching detail to so many outfits. Find the best hair accessories on The Iconic or Etsy.
5. It’s giving shaggy…

IYKYK! Everyone loves a good shag, literally. The shag’s not going anywhere. It’s giving in between vibes and being more versatile this year round. No matter what face shape or hair texture there’s a shag cut to suit you.
The shag is personally one of my fave cuts to do, so if you’ve been sitting on the fence please fall off and into my chair or your stylists chair immediately.
6. It’s giving micro fringes…

Micro fringes or bangs, are super short. First spotted on the red carpet in the 1950’s, they’re edgy, surprising, and just what you need to make a bold statement.
Featured on the runways during the Spring/Summer 2024 season, as seen on the catwalks of Alexander McQueen and Grace Ling. Not only were stylists onto this trend, but celebrities adopted the look as well.
